6th grade: Investigations 1.3 and 1.4. Using fractions to determine parts of whole numbers. Example, if a class has a goal of making $300, and the only reach 5/6 of their goal, how much money did they make??

$300 divided by 6 = $50, each "piece" is worth $50, the class made 5 out of the 6, so 5 x $50 = $250. So the class made $250. 250 out of 300.
